What we do

Six defined services with published starting prices. Most engagements combine two or three of them, sequenced so the first piece pays for the next.

Two weeks. One clear picture of where the business loses time and money.

Operations Assessment

The assessment is where nearly every OPSA relationship begins, and for about one client in five it is the only thing they ever need from us. We spend eight to ten working days inside the business: following orders from enquiry to cash, timing the handovers, sitting with the people who do the work, and pulling twelve months of history out of whatever systems you use.

What you get at the end is not a slide deck of generalities. It is a costed list. Each finding names the process, the annual cost of leaving it alone, the recommended change, the effort to make that change, and the person inside your company best placed to own it.

  • Kick-off with the owner to agree the three questions the assessment must answer
  • End-to-end process walk of two or three core value streams
  • Interviews with 6–12 staff across every level involved
  • Analysis of 12 months of order, cost and exception data
  • Findings register with dollar impact and payback period for each item
  • Ninety-minute presentation to the leadership team, with the raw workings attached

Written procedures your team will actually open, in language they actually use.

Process Documentation

Most procedure manuals fail for the same two reasons: they were written by someone who does not do the job, and they were written once. We fix both. Documentation sessions are run with the people performing the task, and the finished procedures are short — typically one to two pages with a checklist, a decision point and a named escalation route.

We also build the maintenance habit: a review owner, a review date, and a version block on every document, so the set is still trustworthy two years after we have gone.

  • Current-state process maps in swimlane format
  • One- to two-page standard operating procedures per task
  • Printable floor checklists and shift handover sheets
  • Role responsibility matrix so no step is orphaned
  • New-hire onboarding pathway built from the same documents
  • Editable master files in Word, Excel or Google formats — yours to keep

Stop paying twice: once for stockouts, once for stock that never moves.

Supply & Inventory Planning

Inventory is where operational vagueness turns into cash sitting on a shelf. We classify what you hold, calculate genuine reorder points and safety stock from your own demand variability, and set up a review rhythm that a purchasing clerk can run in an hour a week.

On the inbound side we build a simple supplier scorecard — on-time delivery, quantity accuracy, quality escapes, responsiveness — so supplier conversations rest on a record rather than on the last bad week.

  • ABC/XYZ classification of the full item master
  • Demand variability analysis and safety-stock calculation
  • Reorder points and order quantities loaded into your existing system
  • Dead and slow-moving stock register with a disposition plan
  • Supplier scorecard and quarterly review template
  • Cycle-count schedule to replace the annual shutdown count

One page, ten numbers, refreshed automatically. The rest is noise.

Reporting & Analytics

Almost every company we meet is already collecting more data than it reads. The problem is assembly: three people export three spreadsheets on Monday morning and reconcile them by hand. We remove that work.

We agree the small set of measures that actually drive decisions, connect them to the systems you already own, and build a single operating dashboard with clear thresholds. Then we teach two people in your business to maintain it.

  • Measure workshop: from 40 candidate metrics down to 8–12 that matter
  • Data source audit across ERP, accounting, CRM and spreadsheets
  • Automated refresh, removing manual rekeying and copy-paste
  • One-page daily or weekly operating dashboard with RAG thresholds
  • Monthly management pack template for board or bank reporting
  • Handover training so the dashboard survives without us

Change sticks when supervisors can explain it in their own words.

Team Training & Workshops

A new process that only the consultant understands is a process with a shelf life of about six weeks. Our training is deliberately practical: half-day sessions, maximum twelve people, run on your own examples rather than textbook case studies.

Sessions are recorded if you want them for onboarding, and each attendee leaves with a one-page reference card rather than a 60-slide deck nobody reopens.

  • Supervisor fundamentals: planning, prioritisation, escalation
  • Running a fifteen-minute daily production or service huddle
  • Root-cause problem solving without jargon
  • Reading and acting on the operating dashboard
  • Coaching a new hire through a documented procedure
  • Optional 30-day follow-up clinic to work through real cases

A senior operations head for two to four days a month, without the salary line.

Fractional Operations Support

Some businesses do not need a project; they need someone experienced in the room every other week. Fractional support gives you a named senior consultant on a predictable monthly agreement: reviewing the numbers, chairing the operations meeting, coaching supervisors and keeping improvement work moving between larger projects.

It is a rolling agreement with a 30-day notice period on either side. We would rather you stay because it is working than because you are locked in.

  • Two to four scheduled days per month, on site or remote
  • Monthly operating review with the leadership team
  • Continuous improvement backlog kept prioritised and moving
  • Direct phone and email access during business hours
  • Quarterly written summary of progress against agreed measures
  • Rolling monthly term, 30 days' notice either way

How pricing works

Not sure which of these you need?

That is normal, and it is exactly what the free consultation is for. Describe the symptom and we will tell you which service — if any — addresses the cause.
