Accessibility Statement

We want this website and our office to be usable by everyone. Here is what we have done, what we know is imperfect, and how to tell us when something does not work.

1. Our commitment

OPSA is committed to making opsa.mtechmpl.com accessible to the widest possible audience, including people who use screen readers, keyboard-only navigation, screen magnification or reduced-motion settings. Accessibility is treated as part of building the site, not a later addition.

2. Standard we aim for

We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA. That standard is also referenced by Section 508 of the US Rehabilitation Act.

3. What we have implemented

  • Semantic HTML with a single main heading per page and a logical heading order
  • A visible “skip to main content” link as the first focusable element
  • Text and background colour combinations tested to meet AA contrast ratios
  • Visible keyboard focus outlines on every interactive element
  • Descriptive alternative text on meaningful images, and empty alt on decorative ones
  • Form fields with associated labels and required-field indication
  • Full keyboard operation of the navigation menu, accordions and cookie banner
  • Motion and animation disabled automatically when the browser requests reduced motion
  • Layout that reflows to 320px width and tolerates 200% text zoom without loss of content

4. Known limitations

We would rather list these than pretend they do not exist:

  • The embedded map on the Contact page is supplied by a third party and its internal controls are not fully accessible. The same information — address, directions by car and rail, and parking — is provided as text on the same page.
  • Some data tables in the policy pages scroll horizontally on very narrow screens.

Both items are on our list to improve at the next site revision.

5. Our office

270 Magazine Street has a step-free entrance at street level and an accessible restroom on the ground floor. If you need anything else arranged for a visit — a specific meeting room, materials in large print, or additional time — tell us when booking and we will organise it.

6. Reporting a barrier

If you encounter something on this site or in dealing with us that is difficult or impossible to use, we want to hear about it. Email Michael@opsa.mtechmpl.com with the words “accessibility” in the subject, or telephone +1 925 807 3982.

Please tell us the page address and what happened. We acknowledge every report within two business days and aim to resolve or provide the information in an alternative format within ten business days.

7. Assessment approach

This statement is based on our own evaluation, combining automated checking with manual keyboard and screen-reader testing. It was last reviewed on the date shown at the top of this page and is reviewed whenever the site changes materially.

If anything in this document is unclear, please contact us before relying on it. We will explain it in plain language and, where a change is warranted, we will make it and note the revision date above.
